Prof. Dr. Faruk Çalapkulu is one of the creators of the Marble İzmir Fair and is among the important names that contributed to its development. Faruk Çalapkulu is a geological engineer, mineral deposits geochemistry professor, and he worked as a project coordinator and consultant in the planning, investment and operation stages of many projects on marble and mining investments. He also took part in the planning and implementation of the technical training method as the Organizer of Technical and Vocational Training by producing a factory-school model. He has carried out academic studies at many local and foreign universities. He took part in many national and international working groups on natural stone, mining and marble, and made hundreds of presentations and gave lectures at national and international congresses.
