Gökhan KARAKUŞ

Our jury member Gökhan Karakuş, who studied architecture, architectural history and theory at Columbia University and Vassar College; he works as a designer, curator, historian, architectural critic and theorist, focusing on modern architecture and design. He regularly writes articles for publications such as The Architect’s Journal, Architectural Record, Dwell, and Wallpaper on his areas of expertise. He is the founder of the interactive and environmental design office “Emedya Design”. He worked as a curator in many architectural and design-oriented exhibitions held in Istanbul, London and New York. He lectured at Istanbul Technical University, Politecnico di Milano and Bilgi University. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the GAD Foundation.

Karakuş continues to work on local solutions applied in modern designs focusing on local cultures. He is a specialist in design and architecture with natural stone focusing on structural stone architecture.
